MODEX West 2028 in Las Vegas: What to Know

MODEX West 2028 is MHI's new supply chain trade show, running October 18-20, 2028, at the Las Vegas Convention Center. It brings the MODEX format to the West Coast in a smaller, three-day show.

ISD is not exhibiting in Las Vegas. Instead, you can meet our engineers at MODEX in Atlanta, April 3-5, 2028.

MODEX West 2028 at a Glance

Here are the key facts for planning a trip to Las Vegas. MHI may add details as the show gets closer, so check the MODEX West site before you book.

Like the Atlanta show, MODEX West combines live equipment demonstrations, free education and face-to-face meetings with suppliers.

Why MHI Added a West Coast MODEX

So why a second MODEX? MHI says exhibitors and attendees asked for a show that serves West Coast and international buyers, as DC Velocity reported.

For many companies in California, the Pacific Northwest and the Mountain West, Atlanta is a long trip. A fall show in Las Vegas puts the same kind of equipment much closer to home.

MHI also describes MODEX West as a more intimate event. In fact, it expects 300+ exhibitors, compared with about 1,100 in Atlanta. As a result, you can cover the floor faster, but you will see fewer suppliers in each technology category. Modern Materials Handling covered the launch when MHI announced it.

How MODEX West Fits With Atlanta and ProMat

MHI now runs three shows across two years. ProMat and MODEX still alternate each spring, and MODEX West adds a fall show in 2028.

Which show fits your team depends on timing, travel and how many suppliers you want to compare. For the spring shows, see our MODEX Atlanta 2028 guide and our ProMat 2027 guide.

"A smaller show can work in your favor, because you get more time with each supplier and the conversations go deeper. However, if you are comparing several ASRS or robotics options side by side, the bigger floor in Atlanta gives you more choices in one trip."

Is ISD Exhibiting at MODEX West?

No. ISD is exhibiting only at MODEX in Atlanta, April 3-5, 2028. We will post our booth number once MHI assigns it.

If you plan to attend MODEX West, we can still help. Our engineers meet by video before or after the show to review your layout, order data and goals. Schedule a free consultation to get started.

Likewise, if you can make the trip to Atlanta, you can book a MODEX meeting with ISD now.

"I expect MODEX West to bring in a lot of West Coast buyers who couldn't justify the trip to Atlanta, and that's good for our industry. However, ISD will be in Atlanta in April. So if Las Vegas is your show, call us first. We'll review your data by video, and you'll walk the floor knowing which technologies are worth your time."

Ed Romaine, VP of Marketing and Business Development, ISD
